Flood Consistency Royal Icing

Tools and ingredients you will need for frosting:

1lb or 2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons meringue powder

8 tablespoons warm water

Black food coloring

Stand or hand mixer


Make it!

Beat all ingredients (including food coloring) at low speed for 7 to 10 Minutes

The consistency of Elmer’s glue

If icing too dry add more water - 1 teaspoon at a time

If icing becomes to soupy add more powdered sugar – ¼ cup at a time

Royal icing is very quick to dry; keep covered with a damp cloth while not in use

*if you do not want to use the edible chalk leave some of the royal icing white and you can pipe it on!
