Ingredients and tools:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1.5 lb bag of High Altitude White Cake Mix
- 1 ½ cup of powdered sugar
- Green food coloring
- Red heart sugars
Preheat oven to 350˚
Cream butter, cream cheese, egg, vanilla until light and fluffy.
Add in cake mix and food coloring and mix until well incorporated and dough forms.
Wrap dough in cellophane or in zip lock bag and chill for 30 minutes.
Scoop spoonful size amounts and roll into ball then roll in powdered sugar until fully coated. Shake off any excess powdered sugar.
Reserve extra powdered sugar
Place cookie balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment
Bake for 12 minutes and push sugar hearts into the center of the warm cookie once out of the oven
Next, dust with extra powdered sugar using a fine mesh sifter to create the effect of snow
